Christmas EDIT #3 Christmas Dinner with Friends

.....Cook the turkey and they will come.....

Before heading back home to spend Christmas with our families my flatmate and I wanted to celebrate Christmas with our friends. The deal was we would cook the turkey and the potatoes and provide a mulling service for cheap red wine, and they would bring all the trimmings. This is a great way to throw a huge dinner party and not be stuck in the kitchen wondering why you spent so much money.

The result.....

 A table full of food

To start we cooked the biggest turkey we could find. We followed Nigella's recipe and brined the bird. To follow the same recipe click here:

We then requested stuffing, spouts, veg, booze, sausages, carrots, crumble, mince pies and Christmas crackers. Although we were initially worried we wouldn't get enough to feed nine people, we almost didn't have enough space on the table to hold everything! Everyone had seconds and no one went home hungry even after playing charades for three hours. All in all minimum effort for maximum food and a lovely time had by all.

Thanks for reading, happy Advent!
